The Relief Care Assistant provides temporary, compassionate, and attentive supervision to clients age 55+ in their homes. The role ensures the client’s comfort, safety, and emotional well-being when regular carers are unavailable. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and a caring disposition.
TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
Essential
· Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
· Strong observational and listening skills.
· Adaptable and able to work with minimal supervision.
· Respectful of clients’ privacy, dignity, and cultural background.
· Personal transport
· Telephone
Desirable
· Understanding and experience of dementia and/or long term health conditions.
· Experience of caring for people with care and support needs.
