Description
Solid Building Contracting is seeking an experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor to join our Dubai operations. The role involves independently handling all quantity surveying, cost control, and contract administration activities across the pre-contract and post-contract stages of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract / Tender Stage
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including quantity take-offs and pricing in line with Dubai market rates.
Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents.
Revise quotations based on design changes and client requirements.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Post-Contract Stage
Prepare and assess variation orders in accordance with contract conditions.
Prepare and issue RFQs to subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare interim payment applications and evaluate subcontractor payment claims.
Review quotations and prepare comparison and recommendation reports.
Review and approve material submittals and material requests in coordination with site teams.
Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow.
Prepare final accounts and manage project close-out, including final payments, variations, and contractual documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Dubai or the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC-based contracts and Dubai construction practices.
• Proven experience in pre-contract and post-contract administration.
• Proficient in MS Excel and quantity surveying software.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management, consultants, and site teams.
