Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Locum Social Worker to join our East Dorset Locality Team, working with adults in the community to manage complex cases and deliver high-quality, strengths-based assessments within a local authority setting. The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week, undertake community visits as required, attend the office a minimum of two days per week, and demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant legislation, excellent assessment skills, and experience working with complexity, including completing Court of Protection work.

Key Responsibilities
• Complete strengths-based assessments and care planning
• Manage a complex caseload within adult social care
• Conduct community visits and home assessments
• Lead on Court of Protection work, including reports and applications
• Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments
• Apply strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legislation
• Work hybrid: minimum 2 office days per week

Essential Requirements
• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Experience in adult social care (local authority preferred)
• Strong assessment, risk management, and case coordination skills
• Proven work with complex cases
• Essential experience in Court of Protection assessments and reports
• Full ability to complete community-based work
