Your role as a Financial Accountant - UK
As a Full-Time Financial Accountant at Beacon Therapeutics (USA) Inc in London, you will be responsible for a range of daily tasks that ensure accurate financial management. You'll prepare and maintain financial statements, manage general ledger entries, and assist in monthly close processes. Daily reconciliations of accounts will be a key part of your routine, as will tracking and analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing insights and reporting that drive decision-making.
Additionally, you will support budget preparation and forecasting efforts, ensuring alignment with company goals. Continuous improvement will be an essential focus, as you will actively seek ways to enhance financial processes and reporting accuracy. Your role will also involve adhering to compliance standards, maintaining thorough documentation, and preparing for internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and integrity in all financial dealings.

Knowledge And Skills Required For The Position Are
Accounts Payable
• Full purchase to pay responsibilities. This will involve but not be limited to matching purchase orders to invoices to ensure accurate and timely payment processing. Processing non PO related invoices in accordance with company policies. Investigating and resolving queries related to purchase orders invoices and vendor accounts. Managing new vendor setup ensuring compliance with internal controls and documentation. Responsible for reviewing and approving employee expense claims ensuring timely reimbursement accurate VAT recording and full compliance with the Company’s Travel and Expense policy. Maintain the Goods Received Not Invoiced ledger ensuring all open items are accurate and up to date. Manage the preparation and submission of 1099 forms for U.S. entities only.
Treasury
• Process payments through the Company’s online banking platform ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls. Perform daily bank reconciliations and post corresponding journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Month End Accounting
• Oversee fixed asset and intangible acquisitions and disposals and ensure accurate calculation and posting of monthly depreciation. Recognize and release prepayments and accruals monthly ensuring accurate financial reporting. Prepare and post general journal entries in NetSuite ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Calculate the estimated research and development tax credit ensuring only eligible spend is included in the calculation. Maintain lease schedules posting interest depreciation and any necessary movements when new terms are agreed. Review VAT ensuring correct VAT codes are applied throughout all transactions. Responsible for preparing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Year End Accounting
• Liaise with external auditors providing timely and accurate responses to relevant queries. Prepare statutory disclosure notes for financial statements.
Process Improvements
• Identify and lead process and system improvements within the purchase to pay and record to report functions across all Beacon entities.
Adhoc Duties
